On the occasion of this years Valentine’s Day, we are happy to share this super easy and lovely Pineapple Flambé recipe. Adapted for Valentine's day with extra love and hearts.
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 2 oranges
- 25g of butter
- 10 cl of Rum Babs - Pineapple, Vanilla, Pink Pepper
- 1/2 lemon
- Cinnamon stick
- Vanilla pod
- 4.5 spoons of brown sugar
- Tablespoon of olive oil
Follow the recipe step by step below.
1 / Cut away the outer skin of the pinapple
2 / Slice the way you prefer. We sliced from top to bottom so we could cut out heart shapes.
3 / Press the oranges and the lemon
4 / Add the cinnamon stick, vanilla pod, brown sugar to the orange and lemon juice
5 / Heat up the butter and oil in a non-stick pan and add in your pinapple. According to the thickness of your sliced pineapple bake for around 3-4 minutes each side.
6 / Bake until golden and add your juice preparation.
7 / Simmer until the juices are mostly evaporated and you are left with a syrupie texture.
8 / Add in the rum and flambé! (make sure the syrup is hot enough, otherwise the rum won't ignite.)
9 / Serve immediately and add the extra syrup on the side
10/ Add in a scoop of vanilla ice cream for some added sweetness.
